The short version

• Your solves, quizzes, lecture notes, labels and stars are stored on your device (browser storage), not on our servers.
• The one exception is the Community: posts, replies, reactions, saves, poll votes, reports and the profile you create there are stored on our servers (Supabase), because other students need to see them. Your community profile shows only the display name and handle you choose — never your email. Deleting your account deletes everything you posted.
• A recording of class dropped into Lectures is transcribed on your device. The audio never leaves it.
• The text and photos you ask about, and lecture transcripts, are sent to our AI provider to generate the answer. They are not used to train anyone's model.
• We store your email (to sign you in), a daily usage count per feature, and — if you subscribe — your Stripe customer ID and plan. We never see your card number.
• No ads, no ad tracking, no analytics SDKs, no selling of data.

What we collect and why

Account

Signing in takes an email address and nothing else — no password, no name. We use it to send you a sign-in link and to attach your plan and daily allowance to you. Your email is stored by our authentication provider, Supabase.

Usage

To enforce the daily limits on each plan we keep a count per day of how many solves, quizzes, follow-ups, tutor minutes and lectures your account has used. The count is a number per feature per day; it does not contain what you asked.

Payments

Subscriptions are handled by Stripe. When you subscribe, Stripe gives us a customer ID and subscription ID, which we store next to your account so we know which plan you are on. Your card details go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers. Stripe's own privacy policy governs what they hold.

What you ask

When you solve a problem, build a quiz, chart data, talk with the tutor, or turn a transcript into notes, the text, photo or transcript you provide is sent to Anthropic's API to produce the result, together with the instructions that make it a tutor rather than an answer key. Under Anthropic's commercial terms this content is not used to train their models. We do not keep a server-side copy of what you asked or of the answer — the result is saved on your device only. (If you choose to post a question to the Community, that post — and the AI's draft reply to it — is stored on our servers like any other post.)

Your device

History, saved quizzes, lecture notes, charts, labels, stars, the review queue, streaks, and your settings live in your browser's local storage on the device you used. Clearing your browser data, or pressing “Erase all data on this device” in the account menu, removes them permanently. They do not sync between devices today; the app says so wherever it matters.

Camera and microphone

Taking a photo uses your camera only while the viewfinder is open, and the image is processed on your device before it is sent. We never record audio: lectures are recorded with your phone's own app and the file is transcribed in your browser. We do not request microphone access.

Cookies

One session cookie keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

Where data lives

Accounts and usage counts are hosted by Supabase; the application runs on Vercel; AI requests go to Anthropic; payments go to Stripe. Each of those providers processes data under its own terms.

Who this is for

SolveItAi is built for college students and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

• Delete on-device data any time from the account menu.
• Delete your account — email us from the address you signed up with and we will remove the account, its usage counts, and the Stripe link. Any active subscription is canceled first.
• Cancel a subscription any time from Manage billing on the pricing page.

Changes and contact
